Lincolnshire, Ill. (April 25, 2016) Sysmex America, Inc. today announced the promotion of Andy Hay to executive vice president. Hay’s new role will focus on product marketing, scientific affairs and enterprise training. The newly created role will include a position on the Sysmex America, Inc. board of directors.

“Andy has played an integral role in expanding our market share,” said John Kershaw, president and chief executive officer, Sysmex America, Inc., “His global industry knowledge, his close connections to our customer base and his prior experience in sales and product marketing will prove to be extremely valuable to us as we continue to grow,” Kershaw said.

Sysmex has experienced a sizable expansion of its user base in recent years, necessitating an increased corporate focus on customer care and clinical product innovations, which will be handled by Hay and his team.

Hay’s background encompasses product marketing and sales leadership roles in the U.S., Europe and Japan. He joined the UK distributor of Sysmex hematology instruments in 1989 and was a founding member of Sysmex U.K. Limited in 1991. He has been with Sysmex America for 16 years, serving most recently as vice president, U.S. sales and special projects. He is a graduate of Wharton’s Executive Development and Advanced Management programs and has additional degrees in Biomedical Sciences.
