4/15/2015
12:00 PM to 1:00PM (Americas) Central Time (US & Canada)

Karen Dyer, MT(ASCP) DLM Director, Division of Laboratory Services, Center for Medicare Services

The Individualized Quality Control Plan (IQCP) is the CLIA quality control policy developed as an alternative option for laboratories looking to maximize the benefits of QC. IQCP will replace EQC as of January 1, 2016, and laboratory directors will need to establish an IQCP for their laboratory or adhere to the CLIA mandated minimums. This session will discuss the regulations behind IQCP, how laboratories can determine if IQCP is a good fit for their quality control needs, and how each lab can evaluate the level of risk associated with a conversion to IQCP, based on their risk assessment and frequency of QC.

Objectives:

  • Describe the development of IQCP
  • Discuss the overview of IQCP policies and interpretive guidelines
  • Develop an implementation plan for IQCP
