This session will examine the incidence, clinical significance, and diagnostic evaluation of iron deficiency anemia and thrombocytopenia in pediatric patients. The use of expanded CBC parameters, reticulocyte hemoglobin (RET-He) and immature platelet fraction (IPF) will be discussed as additional tools to manage these challenging conditions. Case study examples will be reviewed to illustrate the clinical benefits of these parameters.
