RETICULOCYTE HEMOGLOBIN (RET-He)
Reticulocyte Hemoglobin helps monitor acute changes in hemoglobin incorporation into the erythron, which is measured at the cellular level. This provides a sensitive tool for the early detection of iron deficiency by the physician.
Watch: A Pediatric hematologists's perspective
Our Advanced Clinical Parameters (ACPs) expand the routine CBC beyond traditional use and may assist clinicians with patient care. Dr. Kandace Gollomp, pediatric hematologist/oncologist at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, describes how Reticulocyte Hemoglobin Equivalent (RET-He) and Immature Platelet Fraction (IPF) can be included in order sets or reflex testing as part of their patient workups.

Read (abstract): RET-He reference intervals in neonates
Sysmex's IRF (Immature Reticulocyte Fraction) and RET-He (Reticulocyte Hemoglobin Equivalent) parameters have been studied and proven to be useful in managing adult patients with a variety of hematological disorders. There is limited reference range data and studies using these parameters with neonates and infants which has restricted application in this population. These investigators collected data during a 12-month span to determine neonatal reference ranges for reticulocyte parameters which can be used to manage this patient population.Read Abstract
